M+A Studio was established in 2020 by founders Shanay Moghbel and Elmira Alamdari to provide design services for clients looking for thoughtful and inspired changes to elevate their living spaces. Our approach is to work closely with our clients to understand their requirements and provide inspiration and professional advice to create living spaces that match those in their imagination. We design living spaces to be experienced and enjoyed. Through a process of early collaboration with our clients, we work to bring ideas to life and into the concept phase. Once a concept has been selected, we continue our close dialogue with our clients to refine the concept into beautiful designs that can then become a reality.

Our services are geared around our clients’ needs and range from a simple quick makeover to entire home remodeling, new construction and project management from design through to completion. We also offer consultation services on new or ongoing projects and interior design services.

Elmira Alamdari

After Elmira received her Engineering of Architecture degree, she pursued her Masters (M.A.) from Anhalt University of Applied Science (Bauhaus) in Dessau, Germany. After being awarded her Masters, Elmira worked on urban development and interior design projects in Leipzig, Germany. Elmira moved to the Bay Area in 2016 and worked extensively in health care, including projects for Stanford Health Care and UCSF.

After spending a number of years specializing in health care, Elmira expanded her experience by working on workspace projects, including with Apple and Google. In 2020, Elmira made the decision to establish M+A Studio with her co-founder to pursue residential design and services, allowing her more creative freedom to help clients bring their imagined living spaces into reality.

Shanay Moghbel

Shanay received her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Science and Technology in Iran. Following work in the field of architectural and urban design for a number of years, she decided to pursue her studies in San Francisco and received her Masters of Architecture from Academy of Art University in 2011.

After collaborating in architectural and interior design projects for commercial and residential spaces as well as arts, she decided to follow her passion and focus more on architectural design in the residential field. This led to the establishment of M+A Studio alongside her co-founder, with whom she shares a passion for creating beautiful, modern and functional spaces tailored to client’s requirements.
